Turriff International was formed in 1999 and owned equally by its founders, Tony Moore and George Young, both of whom were senior directors of other major companies in Europe and South Africa and have many years experience working in the banking and electronic transactions markets. Turriff also has a strong connection with Vistula Communications Services Inc., an American organisation in the telecommunications market with offices in the United Kingdom, to supply transaction processing systems. During February 2003 Eposs Limited a UK company in the mobile phone recharge market acquired a minority shareholding in Turriff and utilises the TRAPS software.

Turriff is registered in the British Virgin Isles with bases in Spain, Scotland and South Africa which provide the management, technical and systems expertise for TRAPS.

Turriff's revenues are gained from licensing the TRAPS system, providing Project and Support Services and sharing in the payment transaction fee. Turriff has contracts with Virtual Card Acquiring (Pty) Ltd in South Africa, Monex Financial Services in Ireland and Bank of China. Turriff are also currently addressing other opportunities in Eastern Europe, Western Europe, East and West Africa, China, Middle East and Central America.

Turriff also has a patent certificate (No. 2379133) for the UK and application pending (No. 02255734.2) for Europe for their product called "Method of Crediting an Account" This product is based on providing secure payments or money transfers via the mobile phone.
