Turriff Recharge and Payment System (TRAPS) is the central system that processes and manages the electronic payment transactions over alternative communications networks. The system provides all the communication interface, database, protocol conversion, routing, security and bill logging management functions. TRAPS, provides a complete solution to any payment system offering access to any settlement or local and international authorisation systems from any electronic payment device.

The TRAPS Server's primary functions are:
to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data being transmitted
to ensure that each transaction is routed to the correct destination
to record statistical data for charging settlement purposes
to monitor performance in the event of increased traffic over any node to maintain the high performance of the system
TRAPS is particularly suited to applications with a profile of frequent short data bursts in attended or self-service environments. Those include:
